The Fungus Remixes

The Molecular Media Project run at Swinburne University (my old Uni) aims to use cells and atoms to perform useful computational tasks at the micron or nano scales. Selections of digital media (text, audio, images and video) are modified at the nanoscale by growing fungus or thermally printing on the CD or DVD medium. A 'remix' is then produced of the original information as it is read by the laser being distorted by the modification. The website has a heap of media available to view or listen to which has been distorted in this way.
