Warm goo phase complete

Scientists at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre have managed to induce a state of reversible hibernation in mice. The Hibernation state is created by gradually adding hydrogen sulphide, which occurs naturally in the body already, to a level of concentration where the body is deprived of oxygen at a cellular level, thereby stopping metabolic activity.

It's the first time induced hibernation has been achieved in a non-hibernating mammal, transforming the mouse from a warmblooded creature to a coldblooded state of near suspended animation with no heartbeat, respiration or other signs of life.

It will be interesting to see if they can get a mouse to live for 50 years with this.
